Annual membership fees for the NLDHA are collected by the Canadian Dental Hygienists Association (CDHA). Membership reminders from the CDHA are mailed to members early in the Fall.

To apply for licensure, contact the Newfoundland & Labrador Council of Health Professionals (NLCHP).

When you become a NLDHA member you are actively supporting the growth and professional recognition of the dental hygiene profession. It is an investment in your future.

Fees are used for the following activities:

  • To provide a scholarship at Dalhousie University to be awarded to the Dental Hygiene student with the second highest GPA.
  • To develop a second scholarship, in honour of Dr. Jane Pickersgill, to be given annually to a Canadian dental hygiene student, who is from Newfoundland.
  • To publish a list of licensed dental hygienists in two provincial papers for the information of the public.
  • To celebrate National Dental Hygiene Week
  • To support community oral hygiene initiatives, such as the Janeway Childrens' Foundation Annual Teddy Bear B.A.S.H. - Tooth Booth.
  • To conduct the annual general meeting.
